So according to a few Americans/Whites: Indian=Arab=Terrorist=Al Qaeda.
Why not? Who cares about the mythical term called common sense?
The racist rules of Miss America do not apply anymore. Until the 1970’s, African-Americans were restricted from participating in the pageant. However, it’s not the seventy’s anymore, and since then half a dozen African American women have been named Miss America.
Recently, Nina Davulari, an AMERICAN (emphasis intended!) of Indian descent won the annual pageant and was named Miss America for the year 2014. The 24 year old is an aspiring student and plans to use her prize money to pay her way through medical school.
As soon as the tiara was set upon the her head, social networking sites were riddled (or should i say infected?) with racist slurs about how a non American had won a contest that, in their ignorant minds is reserved for ‘whites’. One tweet read ‘If you’re #Miss America you should have to be American’.
It took almost an hour before the others would euthanize the filth that was taking over social media and proudly accept the new Miss America as actually being ‘American’. Thankfully, there are Americans who know that an American citizenship is not given solely on the basis of skin color.

The racist tweets received quite a lot of attention on social media, and some of the accounts of their owner were graciously deleted/suspended.
However, now the hashtag ‘#missamerica’ is filled with tweets standing up for the beauty queen and I feel that I should do my part and give the best of them credit.

According to a few, being an Indian is equivalent to being an Arab, which is in turn equivalent to being a terrorist, which of course directly affiliates to Al Qaeda because in their delusional, blind, uncultured world, Christian or Hindu terrorists don’t exist. You know what? The next time a Christian wins a parliamentary seat in India, I will tweet about how he’s clearly affiliated to the Lord’s Resistance army (a Christian terrorist organisation in Uganda). The next time you feast on butter chicken, you’re devouring the filth eaten by Hindu terrorist groups in India. You know what is even better? I will call Mitt Romney an ultra-conservative psycho because he’s Mormon.
I do not write this because I’m Indian. Even if the new Miss America was a Muslim or Arab, it wouldn’t alter my opinion that the people who expressed discontent at a non white winning a beauty pageant are ignorant, racist and pitiful. I do not even hate them, I just feel sadness at the thought that they even exist.
Ignorance is one thing. Flaunting that ignorance for the entire world to see is another. Being proud of that ignorance just throws it over the mountain. The new Miss America is beautiful. No, she’s not an Arab. No, she’s not a terrorist. Yes, she’s American. Yes, she has Indian roots. Yes, she’s dark skinned. Lastly, no, she will not blow you up.
